State Duma supports 10 bln rbl capital injection for RusHydro
MOSCOW, Nov 13 (PRIME) -- The budget and tax committee of the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, has supported an amendment to a 2018–2020 budget draft that encompasses a 10 billion ruble injection into capital of state hydropower giant RusHydro, the committee’s Chairman Andrei Makarov told reporters on Monday.
Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Nesterenko said that the amendment includes a 1 billion ruble injection in 2018, a 3 billion ruble injection in 2019, and a 6 billion ruble injection in 2020. The company will mainly spend the funds to insure power supplies within the Chaun–Bilibinsky power center to construct a 100-kilovolt Pevek–Bilibino single-circuit power transmission line, she said.
“Implementation of the project that will also provide power to the power center has started,” she said.
“The power supply plan for the Chukotka peninsular is changing, it is a long story. The task was set a long time ago, and the government is solving the situation in this case…This money will ensure creation of a transmission line by the time the Bilibino nuclear power plant closes. We have been delaying the closure of the plant because we have no transmission line, but this has become an issue of energy safety,” Makarov said.
